Genuine Sheepskin Leather Journal, Blank Chamois Paper | Layered Frame | Antique Metal Motif | Floral Tree of Life
Every Vian journal begins its journey as a raw piece of premium sheepskin leather. Carefully measured, hand-cut, and shaped by skilled artisans, each cover is crafted with precision and character. The inner pages are professionally stitched in a bindery using a special technique that allows the journal to open fully flat at 180 degrees, creating a seamless and comfortable writing experience. At the heart of this series lies its defining feature: a heavy, vintage-textured antique metal motif, framed within a layered leather design. This combination gives each journal the presence of a timeless heirloom—something that feels discovered rather than newly made.
Designed for those who value depth and character, this journal is a natural fit for writers, travelers, artists, history enthusiasts, and anyone drawn to vintage or steampunk aesthetics. It is more than a notebook; it is a long-term companion for preserving thoughts, memories, and creative work. With its substantial feel and evolving leather surface, it also serves as a meaningful gift that grows more beautiful with time.
🌱 Crafted from 100% Natural, Skin-Safe Leather
Made exclusively from vegetable-tanned premium sheepskin leather and colored using natural root dyes, this journal is completely free from harmful chemicals such as chrome and formaldehyde. Backed by official university laboratory testing, it is safe for skin contact and environmentally responsible. Over time, the leather develops a unique patina, making each piece even more distinctive.
🛠️ Fully Handcrafted with Antique Metal Motif
Each journal features a layered leather frame combined with a heavy antique metal cast motif at its center. The design blends texture, weight, and detail to create a visually striking and tactile product.
📏 Available in 5 Sizes
Choose the size that fits your lifestyle: Ex Mini, Mini, Small, Medium, or Large. Whether you need a compact daily companion or a spacious journal for long writing sessions, there is an option for every use.
📜 Eye-Friendly Vintage Chamois Paper
The pages are made from SORA press yellow paper, an uncoated woodfree graphic paper with a warm vintage tone. This natural color reduces eye strain and complements the rustic leather aesthetic.
✍️ Smooth, Everyday Writing Experience
With a weight of 70 g/m² and 91% opacity, the paper provides a balanced surface suitable for ballpoint pens, gel pens, fine liners, and pencils. The uncoated texture allows for quick ink absorption and comfortable daily use.
📖 180° Lay-Flat Binding
Thanks to a special stitched binding system, the journal opens completely flat, allowing uninterrupted writing or sketching across both pages.
🧩 Truly One of a Kind
Because each piece is handmade from genuine leather, slight variations in color, texture, and natural folds are expected. These differences are not imperfections—they are what make every journal unique.
Please note: Due to the 70 g/m² paper weight, wet fountain pens or alcohol-based markers are not recommended, as they may cause bleed-through.
Made by hand. No two alike.
Every Vian journal passes through at least twelve pairs of hands before it reaches yours. Genuine full-grain leather, hand-sculpted and finished with antique brass hardware in our Antalya atelier.
Your customers don't
buy a journal.
They buy a feeling.
In a world of mass-produced notebooks, a Vian journal stops people in their tracks. The weight in the hand. The resistance of full-grain leather. The face staring back from the cover — sculpted by an artisan in Antalya who has been doing this for years. These are objects that demand to be picked up. And once picked up, they almost always sell themselves.
From hide to heirloom.
Every step by hand.

Leather Selection
Every journal begins with a single hide. Our leather specialist selects full-grain sheepskin by touch — feeling for the right density, natural grain, and character. Hides with imperfections are kept: they become the most interesting pieces.

Sculpting & Forming
The leather is dampened, stretched over a form, and worked by hand until it holds its shape. For 3D sculpted pieces, the artisan pushes the leather into relief from behind — a technique unchanged for centuries. No moulds. No machines. Just hands and patience.

Stitching & Binding
Covers are stitched with waxed thread pulled by hand through pre-punched holes. The binding holds 70gsm antique chamois paper — cream-toned, acid-free, with a texture that makes writing feel like an event. Pages are sewn in signatures, not glued.

Hardware & Finishing
Antique brass clasps are fitted by hand. Each one is tested — the click and resistance checked, the patina inspected. The journal is then buffed, conditioned, and wrapped. From selection to shipping, no two journals pass through exactly the same hands in exactly the same way.

Yes, genuinely. The hand-sculpting process combined with natural leather variation means every piece differs in texture, tone, and detail. This is not a marketing claim — it is a physical fact of how they are made. No two journals leave our atelier identical.
